To mark the imminent deadline for their 2008 scheme, straight8 will be presenting a selection of greatest hits and talking about the unique experience of making a straight8 film. (For the uninitiated, his involves being given a 3-minute reel of super 8 film on which you shoot your film, editing in camera as you go. You submit the film along with a soundtrack on cd, and the first time you get to see it is at the premiere.) The scheme has big ambitions this year, including a Cannes programme and a series of slots on channel 4's 3 Minute Wonders. Amongst the folks talking will be local cine-adventurer Chris Keenan (Prime Objective).

Also in the programme, a selection of recent film submissions (some super 8, some not), the usual musical interludes, and a triple-projector climax courtesy of filmficciones with aural accompaniment by Michael Valentine-West. All for four quid.
